What is ArtCatal
A simple way to organize, present, and share art catalogs and exhibitions.
It works as an online art catalog for both creators and collectors, allowing you to register pieces (painting, sculpture, photography, etc.) with detailed records: title, year, technique, dimensions, images, artwork history, and exhibition context. The platform is available in multiple languages and is designed for emerging artists and established creators who want a well-structured digital presence.
Project origin
ArtCatal was born from its authors’ need for a simple and effective tool to catalog and manage their own artworks and art collections. Faced with a lack of accessible solutions centered on the artist, they decided to build a platform that makes it possible to organize detailed records for each piece, document creative journeys, and keep well-structured collections—both for personal use and for public sharing. That hands-on experience as artists and collectors was the starting point for ArtCatal as a project conceived from within the art world.
Project objective
The objective of ArtCatal is to democratize access to art by providing creators and collectors with a simple tool to manage their work, document their journey, and connect with a broader audience in the digital space. At the same time, the platform aims to build a community of artists and collectors who share their visions and create a more inclusive and accessible ecosystem for artistic outreach.
Key features
• It allows you to create a personalized artistic profile linked to the artist’s works or to a collection.
• It lets you organize your own collections and share only the pieces you want with the public.
• It includes 3D virtual exhibitions, so you can set up online shows without needing physical infrastructure.
• The service is designed to be intuitive and affordable, with advanced features for amateur, emerging, or professional artists, collectors, gallery owners, and more.
Privacy and control
You decide which catalogs are public, what stays private, and how your work is shown.
Your data is completely safe on ArtCatal. We will never sell, share, or transfer your personal information to third parties, and we commit to never sending you advertising or unsolicited commercial communications. Your privacy is an absolute priority in this personal, non-commercial project.
Access and pricing
ArtCatal is a personal project, developed by artists and creators, shared with the public in a limited and non-commercial way. The platform is not intended to be monetized at any time—neither through subscriptions, advertising, nor data sales—keeping it as an independent space focused on the real needs of artistic work.
Access to ArtCatal is free, as the project started as a personal-use tool opened to a small group of artists and collectors. In return, a minimal collaboration is expected from users: sharing usability feedback, proposing useful new features, reporting functional or wording issues, and helping improve the platform from the practical experience of those who use it.
The idea is to keep the cost of servers and the required infrastructure very low, similar to what would be needed for the exclusive use of its creators. The goal is that, with minimal technical resources and time, the same infrastructure can also serve a small group of artists without turning the project into a paid service, while always preserving its open and non-commercial nature.
How to participate in ArtCatal
ArtCatal is designed for a small group of artists and collectors who want to try the platform and help improve it. If you’d like to use ArtCatal, simply register and start using it; if you have any problems or suggestions, contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
By participating, you will not be asked to pay anything, but we do value hearing about your experience: how intuitive the platform feels, which features you miss, potential bugs, or improvements to wording or the interface. This is how we build ArtCatal together—keeping it open, simple, and focused on the real needs of artists and collectors.
